INSTRUCTIONS
Kinetic Typography (Group Work)
We were instructed to create a lyrics animation using any upbeat song as a group work, Mr. Martin also suggested So What by Pink if we want to. Firstly, we recommended a lot of songs in the Whatsapp chat and voted for 'Butter' by BTS at last as it is a lively and catchy song, which is suitable for this exercise. Then, we began doing the breakdown of the lyrics in google sheets and grouping them by numbers for the repeated parts such as the chorus. Once this is done, we distributed the workload among ourselves, with each person animating 7 lines of the entire song respectively.
We began discussing about our colour pallete and font choice, so that we can make our work consistent when being compiled together later on. We decided to use 'Pattaya' font for the lyrics as it is the closest font design to the official music video logo. We also decided to use yellow for our background and the official colour scheme of the MV to make it look more 'buttery' and vibrant. As for our main colour scheme, we utilised the official poster of the song for vibrant and pop colours, though we agreed that to focus mainly on black and use other colours for emphasizing important words.
Colour Sheme Reference.
I took over 7 lines to work on, which is :
I got that superstar glow so
Ooh (To the boogie like)
Side Step Rigt Left To my beat
HIgh like the moon
Rock with me baby
Know that I got that heat
Let me show you cause talk is cheap
Lyrics Line Distribution Google Sheets
I began working on my lyrics part on After Effect. I mainly used simple effects to work on, such as the handwriting effect, glow effect and manipulating the basic animation tools such as opacity, scale and position.

My finalised part of the lyric animation.
After completing my part, I sent it to Yean Tung to compile our parts together into a complete song. After that, Zetie took over the compilation work to edit the video. Looking at the first version of our video, I realised that some of my part is not sync, so I edited it to sync with the audio. Then, on our video viewing with Mr Martin on Friday (20/1/21), Rebecca did a minor edit to our video to sync the lyrics more precisely, and render it into mp4. To our surprise, Mr Martin really liked our video and gave us some compliments and motivation. We were really happy and this makes us want to do better in future works.

Week 3 - Graph / Chart Motion Graphic - Pie Chart
We were assigned to create a chart motion graphic, with a recorded practical tutorial by Mr. Martin. I was assigned to create a pie chart motion graphic. Below is the final outocome.

Reflection
Experience : This module is very enjoyable for me, as it includes illustrating, chunking and arranging information and also motion graphics. I really enjoyed illustrating the LATCH poster, especially the map, because I have always wanted to draw a map illustration. The Pasta Grannies Instructable Poster was also very fun to do, I enjoyed watching the recipe videos, writing down the recipe and chunking them, then illustrating the chard pie with illustration. However, I have lesser energy when it came to animating the recipe due to less sleep and more stress towards the end of the semester, and it turned out to be a more challenging process for me.
Findings: This module made me more aware of how we process information and making them into a more interesting approach when conveying the message to the audience.
